While Charlotte will be spared much of the impact of Tropical Storm Irma, operations at the airport are taking a hit.

A local spokeswoman for American Airlines Group Inc. (Nasdaq: AAL) says the carrier has canceled most of its regional flights out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport due to windy conditions. Adding in canceled flights to and from Florida airports because of the storm, American Airlines has canceled about 300 of its roughly 660 daily flights at CLT.
